SKI TO SEA RACE SPONSOR INFORMATION
The Ski to Sea Race has been held consecutively in Whatcom County since 1973 from the Mt. Baker Ski Area to Bellingham Bay. The seven leg relay follows a course through the communities of Glacier, Maple Falls, Kendall, Everson, Lynden, and Ferndale, ending at Marine Park in the Historic Fairhaven District of Bellingham. Tens of thousands of people including vendors, racers, and fans join together for a street festival to celebrate and enjoy Whatcom County’s outdoor recreation community. This roughly 93 mile course draws more than 20,000 spectators who line the course and finish line to watch some of the best athletes in the field compete side-by-side with weekend warriors from all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The Ski to Sea Race showcases the community spirit and unique outdoor recreational opportunities Bellingham and Whatcom County have to offer, while at the same time providing support for local 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable beneficiaries.
OUR REACH AND SCOPE OF ADVERTISING IS AS FOLLOWS:
- The Ski to Sea Facebook page has over 14,000 fans
- Our Race website gets over 1 Million unique hits a year
- The print media campaign makes over 500,000 impressions
- 3,000 – 4,000 racers and 20,000 spectators gather in Bellingham during the Race weekend
- Our newsletter goes out to over 17,000 current and past racers and supporters
