This Privacy Policy is designed to assist you in understanding how we collect, use, and safeguard the personal information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Web site and our Registration system. Whatcom Events is committed to maintaining the privacy of the racers and potential racers alike. Our relationships with our racers and potential racers are of the utmost importance to us.  This privacy statement discloses what information we and third parties gather and how we use it. Whatcom Events may amend this statement at any time by posting the amended version here.



No refunds will be given for any reason once a team is paid. The Message Board is an excellent resource to find racers to complete your team if you have a cancellation.



All participants grant Whatcom Events the permission to use their image and name in all forms and media (photographs, motion pictures, or any other records) including composite or modified representations for all legitimate purposes, including advertising, trade, or any commercial purpose throughout the world and in perpetuity. Participants waive the right to inspect or approve versions of their image used for publication or the written copy that may be used in connection with the images.  All participants understand that their name will be listed on the results page of our Website and may be posted in media publications including but not limited to online and print newspapers.

All racers release Whatcom Events, our assigns, licensees, and successors from any claims that may arise regarding the use of their image, including any claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, or infringement of moral rights, rights of publicity, or copyright. Whatcom Events is permitted, although not obligated, to include my name as a credit in connection with the image.



Whatcom Events does not collect personally identifiable information on this website with the exception of the information you voluntarily provide for event registration. This information is maintained only for its intended use.  We do not sell or rent the personal information provided by users of our Web site or Registration system.  During the event registration process, this information includes your name, address, gender, birthdate, telephone number, T-shirt size and e-mail address as well as information regarding your past and future participation.  This information is necessary for event registration, contact with participants, and for continued funding of Tourism Grants through the city and the county.



Credit card information is NOT collected or stored electronically by this website or Whatcom Events. Credit card data for electronic registration and merchandise purchases is captured and processed by Authorize.net, a subsidiary of Visa Corporation. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of Authorize.net for information about their handling of credit card data.



Whatcom Events will occasionally send you information on the race, upcoming events, opportunities, services, and promotions in the form of a newsletter. Out of respect for your privacy, we present the option not to receive these types of communications. If you no longer wish to receive our communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by unsubscribing at the bottom of each communication or by contacting us directly.  Please be aware that there newsletters to participants often include important updates and safety information regarding the race.



The information available on the Website is intended to be a general information resource regarding the matters covered, and is not tailored to your specific circumstance. You should not construe this as legal, accounting or other professional advice. This Website is not intended for use by minors (children under 15). We share certain event-related information with the timing company that we hire for this event. The timing company may provide some information to the announcer at the event finish line.  We may share aggregated demographic information about our user base with sponsors and partners, but this is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.



Whatcom Events reserves the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website.
